Educational Scholarship

In late 2015, the Wine Education Council awarded Educational Scholarships FRANCE to three wine professionals:

Phillip Dunn (Wine & Spirits Director at Spago, Beverly Hills), Taylor Parsons (Director of Beverage and Operations at République in Los Angeles), and Jaimee Anderson (sommelier at Epicure Restaurant in Paris). Each of the recipients received a cash grant to cover all costs, including airfare, lodging, and meals, of traveling to France to further their knowledge of Burgundy.

The three recipients traveled together to Burgundy in January 2016 and spent 6 days of intensive study. They visited between three and five active Burgundy wineries and vineyards each day. Estates visited included Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé in Chambolle-Musigny, Maison Pierre Bourée Fils in Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Alain Burguet in Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Jean-Marc and Thomas Bouley in Volnay, Domaine Lignier-Michelot in Morey St. Denis, Maison Benjamin Leroux in Beaune, Domaine Denis Bachelet in Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Michel Lafarge in Volnay, Domaine Bonneau du Martray in Pernand-Vergelesses, Domaine A.-F. Gros in Vosne-Romanée, Maison Camille Giroud in Beaune, Domaine J.-F. Mugnier in Chambolle-Musigny, Domaine François Feuillet in Morey St. Denis, Domaine Sylvain Pataille in Marsannay, Domaine Stéphane Aladame in Montagny, Domaine Gerard Mugneret in Vosne-Romanée, Maison Parigot & Richard in Savigny-lès-Beaune, Domaine Heitz-Lochardet in Chassagne-Montrachet, Domaine Clos de la Chapelle in Volnay, and Domaine La Soufrandière in Vinzelles.
