Domaine Jean Bourdy has been producing wine from their family vineyards in the Jura since 1475.  Jean-François Bourdy, representing the 15th generation, is first and foremost a man of the soil and farmed in Arlay for 5 years before joining the Domaine.  He studied farming and winemaking abroad before earning an MBA and taking the reins at the Domaine in 1990.  Jean-François diligently studied and practiced biodynamic farming for the next 20 years, finally earning Demeter certification for the family estate in 2010. Although he now serves as commercial manager of the Domaine, Jean-François continues true to his first love and remains close to the soil, working in the vineyards several months a year.
